Iran Society of Deaf People Family

In the name of God

Before the establishment of Iran Deaf People Family Society, Iranian deaf people had not a specific location in order to gather there & met each other.
So due to the non-existence of specific location for deaf  women, who had some social limitations & also existence of some barriers & challenges for deaf people in the community, finally the I.S.D.P.F had been established.
The above mentioned society was established based on the suggestion of some deaf families & with the support of Mrs. Samineh Baghcheban, daughter of Late Mr. Baghcheban ¹ & the former manager of Deafs Welfare National Organization & of course the establishment of society was welcomed with all deaf people.
For your kind information after some meetings & argumentations the society's statute & the members of board had been chosen & approved.
The former members of the board of directors were as below:
Mr.Reza Gholi Shahidi, Mr.Hassan Taghavi, Mrs.Nasrin Zelli.
So the society was established as a public non governmental, non political organization society & had been registered in the General Registry Office of companies & associations with the number of 1721.
The 1st general assembly of I.S.D.P.F was hold on 19 April 1972 at 19:30 pm with the presence of all esteemed persons & deaf families.
The aims of I.S.D.P.F is mentioned in concise as below:
A) Cultural – Didactic Aims:

1. The attempt for increasing the deaf culture & Islamic knowledge level by utilization of  progressive technology facilities & observing the equality origin of deaf people as like as the hearing people.
2. The attempt for conflict with deaf illiteracy by utilization of free education & establishment of adult boarding classes with the cooperation of exceptional education ministry.
3. Training of professional persons who are familiar with sign language in order to do the deaf people related affairs.

B) Social & Legal Aims:

1. The attempt for establishing the monetary independent state for deaf people by establishing the suitable didactic fields such as
2. The attempt for providing the appropriate dwelling for deaf families through the loan conveniences with net profit & long time reimbursement.
3. The attempt for establishing the cooperative company of production, distribution, consumption, dwelling in order to create the occupation fields for deaf people.

C) Health & Medic Aims:

1. Delivering the didactic projects to the health & medic authorities in order to prevent the hearing problems.
2. Delivering the projects about health insurance of all Iranian deafs &  pursuit for it's ratification & implementation.

1- The Late Mr.Baghcheban was the 1st originator of  Persian Sign Language in Iran, who had devoted his life for deaf people & had masterminded the best technology of didactic programs for deaf people  & his daughter continued her  father methods  & served to deaf people.  (Now she lives in America)
